Are you addicted?

are you addicted to cigarettes or alcohol or perhaps some other habit that you would like to kick?

did you manage to fight successfully a habit in the past or planning a battle for the future?

i never had any addictions in the past except on sweet things which creates an excess weight problem, as many times as i tried to get rid of it up to now i failed.

Welcome. This particular thread is a little perplexing. Maybe there is some misunderstanding regarding your initial post of all the scriptures. You are right in that we need to believe Gods word OVER mans. But that is where the disagreement comes into play. All witness will agree that the ones directing the organization are spirit directed. Only men yes, but under Gods direction as his sole channel. Therefore, as a faithful witness, you are to obey the Faithful slave as if from God, or if you don't, your actions prove you have disassociated yourself from "God's organization". When the Society makes errors, or they return to old thinking they use the "new light" phrase. They claim that they are only men. Yet they want unquestionable loyalty. Even calling themselves a "prophet". When you are trained as a JW you take in the "spiritual food", never questioning anything. As if it came from God himself. Only those who allow themselves to check things out, come to realise that many times the Society has dileberatly misquoted from MANY different sources. As Rebel posted just a few. I personally have the A.K. Graysons book that Rebel shows the Society misquotes from. It is out and out deliberate deception!! Real truth does not decieve! And we know Jehovah would NEVER approve of a organization that does!!! No matter what label they have given themselves. Many ones here on this site including myself have spent countless hours digging for what is actually truthful out of everything that we have been ever taught by the organization. The scriptures tell us to,"keep checking, keep making sure." With that in mind we all SHOULD be double checking EVERYTHING that we are being taught, no matter what religion we belong to. However, I can tell you from personal experience, that once the Elders knew I had serious questions, I began to be watched, very closely. I don't know if you are a JW or not (sounds like you are), but if you are and were to express to your Elders what you have said here, about not following "men", you too would find yourself under a magnifying glass!! And you would find yourself faced with answering their 50 million dollar question, "Do you believe this is God's spirit appointed organization??" Your answer had better be "Yes". I hope this helps you understand why information that others post here such as Rebel has done, has and will continue to help many. Even if yo don't find any use for it yourself.

WELCOME!!! We are glad you decided to join the forum. I have been inactive with my husband for about a year now. He was a MS and we were both raised strong in the organization all untill we began to question 607. Our story is under my name (you can find it under member directory) it is entitled "Its high time I introduce myself". Anyhow, the book you ordered Crisis of Concience is a real "eye opener". You won't hardly be able to put it down. When you are done I suggest reading Rays other book, "In search of Christian Freedom". It will probably help you alot.

1st post, but not new!

hello everyone, been browsing the forum for quite a while now(about a year) and decided its time to post.

i'm male, just turned 36 on the first of april, i've been in a the process of fading for about two years now, not that easy having come from a witness family.

i've been in doubt about this religion for most of my life, but finally built up the courage to stop going to the meetings, finding out now how big and beautiful this world is and realizing how much i missed out on "real" life!.....i started to fade about the time i was being pushed, yes pushed into becoming a ms. i did not want to have that duty, and i say duty, not "privelege" as they would say because thats what it is, a duty!

last summer i went to a wedding of a relative that is a witness.

we're not disfellowshipped or disassociated, but have been inactive for about ten years.

because no one mentions our history to others, very few members of our relatives congregations, even know we used to be witnesses.

an "Adult's" View.

here i sit, in my public library, typing away a computer from a hot nasty seat.. but i wouldn't be anywhere else in the world right now.

(okay, maybe a couple of other places).

i have to be at work in 40 minutes, and its a 15 minute drive from here, so lets not expect a novel of a post.. yesterday was my birthday, and they did a little cake thing for me and all that which was nice, but otherwise, nothing is new.. my mother seems to be cooling off, but lets just say that the "excrement flinging fan" hasn't been turned off yet.. i'm 18 now, and nothing is different.

anyone who listened to sol's recordings, would have heard at the end of the first recording of the second appeal meeting (the one that he showed up with a bearded jw named "sean") sol mentioning a second recording device that remained in a brief case recording the elders as they discussed sol's case without him present.

perhaps you are wondering what happened to those.

well, let me fill you in.. sometime while sol was dismissed from the group for the second time, the elders searched the brief case.

Dear Kwin, I bet their fingerprints are ALL over everything in that breif case. I am sure they didn't have gloves on them when they deleated your recordings!! Maybe you would have the evidence needed. Along with the tape itself that shows Dan leaving the room, and then them quizing him if he had taped the conversation or not. Also, since he took a photo of them, wouldn't there be a date on the digital camera that would verify at least two of the Elders present?? Not to mention the photos themselves are proof they were there on that date. Possibly their prints are all over everything!! Just a thought. Sincerely, Lady Liberty

I got DF'D yesterday

she said they made the announcement at the hall yesterday that i got df'd.

they said that i am no longer a jehovah's witness.
